Installation From Zip File

For all operating systems.

Make sure you have Java 5 or greater installed before trying to run Nevitium.

Simply extract the Nevitium 1.0.zip to your Programs Folder
(Ex. "c:\program files\")

You DO NOT need to make a folder before uncompressing.

The zip file IS A compressed folder of the name "Nevitium 1.0"

IF you uncompress to a folder like this

it will make a folder called Nevitium 1.0; it will then uncompress the file into it resulting in this: ...\Nevitium 1.0\Nevitium 1.0\

Not good.

You probably want to do this

After Nevitium is extracted into an appropriate folder or directory you need to create a link to the application.

Link to "java -jar BusinessManager.jar"

Windows users can use nevitium.exe or "javaw -jar BusinessManager.jar"

Change Dir

You must set a "Working" or "Start In" directory that contains the .jar file.

Example:
If you unzipped Nevitium 1.0.zip to "/home/programs", the working directory must be "/home/programs/Nevitium 1.0".

Windows users would look something like this:
"C:\Program Files\Nevitium 1.0\"

There is a space in the folder name - "Nevitium 1.0" so you need to surround the whole path ("start in" directory) with quotes like seen above.

The only reason I mention this is because some instructions tell you to ignore the quotes.

Any path or file name containing spaces should be surrounded by quotes.

Here is an example:

This link is created by Nevitium 1.0_Setup.exe

See: Nevitium User Manual for more information.
