Project Phases

Requirement Stage -  gathering of specific software requirements, this part is done at no charge through email.  A "Requirement Document" is prepared during this stage detailing the software design as I understand it.  All correspondence (email) is kept as a record in addition to various attached Requirement Document PDF files.

Drafting Stage - the design of working windows or screens for demonstration, there is no charge for this if needed.  Other technical details not related to the user interface may be explored to assure validity during this phase as well.

Implementation Stage - the actual features and supporting software components are "constructed" to create a working software package based on the design.  I avoid asking fees until a project or significant phase is completed.

Principals

No Fee Requirement Stage - no fee is charged during the requirement or drafting phases, not until production has started and a product demonstrated is any fee due.

Small Projects - projects are to be kept small, for example, instead of designing and implementing a whole accounting system you would start with the general ledger or inventory system and work from there; each "module" being a separate project.

Flexible Legal Arrangements - each product is open for negotiation on issues of ownership and licensing.

Flexible Fees - fees are flexible to adapt to almost any situation; your work in the software's design is recognized as a monetary contribution to the project.  Some projects may qualify to be completed on commission (future sales).

Data Virtue is constantly developing new technology through research to bolster the competitiveness of small business.  One example is the development of administration-free multi-user systems for automating your daily business functions.  Another is by providing free software that can be modified easily and inexpensively. 
 

Development cost is around $100 per week; negotiable for each unique situation.  I may agree to build a software package on commission for example.

The "requirement stage" is usually lengthy and varied but is done at no cost to the prospective client.  Email is the ideal medium for collaboration during technical projects as it preserves each person's comments for review.

Many small modifications can be done in less than a week and require a much smaller fee.

General support is conducted through e-mail at $14.95 per incident.  An "incident" can last up to 15 days after which another payment must be made.  Support is rarely needed.

Payments are made by credit card or checking account through Pay Pal, you do not need a Pay Pal account for credit card payments.  Checks are accepted by mail.
