How to use the Diurnalis Server and Client

The Diurnalis Server software only gets installed on one machine on your network.

The Diurnalis Client software gets installed on ANY machine that needs access to your Diurnalis Server.

After the Diurnalis Server Software is installed and running it is ready to accept client connections.  When it is running you will see this screen on your server.

Notice the Server Address, it is needed by the clients to connect to the server.

When you start the client you will see this:

Type in the Server Address and press OK or hit ENTER.

You should be instantly connected to the Diurnalis Server and your client screen should look like this:

Use the same Java version on the server and client.

I have tested the server with Java 5 and the client as Java 6, it works.

The Server Address may be different on your network.

Make sure that when you use a machine as a server that you reference it by computer name  from the client instead of Server Address unless the server has a static IP address.  You can find the computer name in Windows by Right-Clicking on My Computer and choosing Properties, its under the Computer Name Tab.
